Service Interruption Notice 10/19/2017

It has been one of those weeks at SOAR...

At around 8:00 PM EST one of our servers decided to meltdown, mostly affecting Troop customers. By 10:00 PM EST the meltdown was non reversible and access to all Troop websites was no longer available.

We needed to have some hardware replaced on that server. We decided it was better to have it taken care of now than to have the servers down later for another period of time, even if it was a schedule outage in the future.

The hardware was replaced and the server was brought back online by 11:30 PM EST.

We then reloaded the server and all customer data back online. No customer data was lost.

Service Interruption Notice 10/16/2017

At 1PM EST we pushed through a service update. This update modified Site Themes to make them compliant with new browser releases.

This update had a bug that caused the Home Page of myPack websites to not load properly and produce a "Service Unavailable" message once logged in. Your SOAR website was actually still there, it was just a display issue on the Home Page. If you accessed any other page on your website, your content would display.

This did not affect myTroop customers.

The bug was fixed and sites were updated at 2:15pm EST.

You should be able to access your Home Page, and the rest of your website without issues.

Converting to Packmaster Web 2.0

Troopmaster is coming out with a new release of their software in the next 60 days called Troopmaster Web 2.0 and Packmaster Web 2.0.

This release has a number of significant technology changes in it. There is one in particular that will affect Troopmaster/Packmaster users and their SOAR website. They are changing their method for assigning unique IDs within their software – what we call TMIDs – that are used for syncing with your SOAR website during the Import process. They are changing to a truly unique TMGUID which in the long run will help significantly reduce duplicate accounts showing up in your SOAR website.

Packmaster/Troopmaster Issue - 6/29/17

Troopmaster released a new version of software today that had an update to the SOAR.xfr export file. This is causing an issue with Import into SOAR websites.

We had tested this update prior to its release. It appears there is a difference once in the production environment that is causing the problem.

To safeguard your data we have turned off the Packmaster/Troopmaster Verify/Import/Convert functions while we work this out.

We have a fix for the issue and a couple SOAR customers are testing it out now.

Please expect the Import features will be available again by sometime tomorrow night.

New: BSA ID Edit Page

We have added a page where you can edit all member's BSA IDs at the same time.

It can be found at Admin/Members/Members Edit/BSA IDs on your SOAR website.

We have also re-organized all the multiple member edit pages into once place at Admin/Members/Members Edit.

This is in support of the upcoming Scoutbook Import feature !

If you are using Scoutbook, start getting all your BSA IDs into your SOAR website now... Stay Tuned :)

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you !

Troopmaster/Packmaster Import - Email Addresses

The original Troopmaster and Packmaster products could store 2 email addresses per individual - Scout, Parent, or Adult. Those two email addresses transfer over to your SOAR website during Import. In addition, you can store a 3rd email address for each individual directly in the 3rd email address position on your SOAR website. This 3rd email address in SOAR will not be overwritten by data from a Troopmaster/Packmaster Import.

The newest version Troopmaster/Packmaster Web 2.0 only stores one email address per individual.

If you are using the Web 2.0 version you can now store email a
